Stephenson Law Appoints James May to Support Technology Strategy

17 November 2021

Stephenson Law has appointed James May, who is the Director of Investment Technology and Transformation at St James’s Place Wealth Management, as our Non-Executive Chief Technology Officer.

Technology innovations are at the heart of our efforts, resulting in being shortlisted for Law Firm of the Year and Boutique Law Firm of the Year at the British Legal Awards 2021. With that in mind, we pay special focus to advising entrepreneurs and fast-growth businesses on their business-as-usual legal needs as well as ambitious projects and transactions.

Ed Boal, Managing Director of Stephenson Law, commented:

“We’ve grown incredibly fast over the past four years and are now entering an exciting new phase of growth as we strive to become one of the leading legal services providers for fast-growth businesses. Technology has always been a central part of how we deliver our services, but we realised the need to bring on someone who’s been there, done that and got the t-shirt – and we’re delighted to have James on board to help us to realise our vision.”

James May added:

“Alice and Ed’s vision for the business and the important role that technology plays is incredibly exciting. I’m delighted to be able to support them and the rest of the team on their journey.”

This comes after a stream of innovative successes for the business, from the founding of Disruptive Technology of the Year winner flamenco to the receipt of the Innovate UK grant. With James’s guidance, the road ahead looks set to push the boundaries of the legal industry even further.
