Meet the flockers: Sally Clayton
10 November 2020
If you could be an athlete, what would you like to compete in?
I’m slightly in awe of all athletes – the dedication and talent. I guess 100m sprint – would love to be fast and it would be good to get it over with quickly! In reality when I go out to run – I’m a real plodder, sometimes I struggle to overtake people walking. I did go synchronised swimming once with the 2012 GB team! Wore the little nose piece and learned to tread water with my leg in the air and learnt to do a rather undignified somersault.
What’s your favourite way to spend a day off?
Outdoors – a walk, back for a nice meal and a film in front of the fire!
What are your hobbies? How did you get into them?
I sing in a band and have been in many bands over the years, met a lot of good people on the way and had a lot of laughs. Probably a highlight was being the warm up act for the Wurzels at Ashton Court. A bit tongue in cheek but actually a really big stage and a great crowd.
