Meet the flockers: Laura French
21 February 2020
In today’s instalment of ‘Meet the flockers’ we sit down with Laura French, Practice Manager here at SLHQ. We talk superpowers, movies, worrying less and mobile phone addiction.
What would you change about yourself if you could?
I am an absolute worry wart – I worry about anything and everything (I even had to ask my Mum if I had got the ‘anything’ and ‘everything’ the right way around whilst writing this). I put so much pressure on myself to get things right that I get myself worked up and worried about what will happen if I get it wrong.
If I could turn the worrying down a few notches I’d make life so much easier for myself.
What was the last film you watched? What did you think?
The Gentlemen – and I loved it! I’m more of a RomCom kinda girl but I had heard some great reviews and I’m so glad I watched it. I absolutely loved the way the film was narrated. I thought it was really clever. Despite being 23, I’m a massive fan of Downton Abbey so it was great seeing Michelle Dockery play a completely different role to what I’m used to her playing. I hope they make a second film!
Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?
I’m ashamed to say this but hands down it’s got to be my phone. I went on a spa day recently and no electronic devices were allowed and that really made me realise how much I use my phone throughout the day – mainly unnecessarily. I use my phone for everything and it’s never that far away from me but I’d really like to start relying on it less.
If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?
Invisibility would be cool. I’ve sometimes wished I could be a fly on a wall. It’d also be a great way to play pranks on people!
It would also be super useful to be able to freeze time. How good would it be to freeze time, get your stuff done and to have not lost any time out of your day?! That would take efficiency and productivity to the next level.
