Alternative law firm Stephenson Law has advised AccelerComm, a company which has developed breakthrough technology that supercharges 5G through optimisation and latency reduction, on its £5.7m Series A investment round led by IQ Capital alongside existing investors Bloc Ventures and IP Group.
Based on more than 15 years of research, AccelerComm’s technology aims to deliver on the 5G promise of a low latency, high throughput, experience to drive new revenue opportunities for a variety of operators, including those in the gaming, IoT and VR spaces. It does this through a combination of ‘channel coding’ technologies that are designed to improve hardware efficiency and correct errors in the decoding process, overcoming the effects of noise, interference and poor signal strength. In the case of 5G, AccelerComm’s technology can reduce latency by up to 16 times.
AccelerComm was named in the EE Times Silicon 100 list of emerging electronics and semiconductor startups to watch from across Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.
Tom Cronk, CEO of AccelerComm, commented:
“Stephenson Law provided excellent leadership and support throughout our funding process. In particular, they provided comprehensive ownership and management of the close process for AccelerComm, providing excellent, professional guidance from start to finish and enabling AccelerComm to focus on growing core business growth”
Ed Boal, Director & Head of Legal Operations at Stephenson Law added:
“Having advised AccelerComm on its previous funding round, I’m delighted to have supported AccelerComm on this latest round, which represents a key milestone in its journey. Improving latency is widely acknowledged as essential to driving 5G adoption and AccelerComm is leading the way.”
