Meet the Flockers: Sam Brown

What do you remember most about your first job?

My first job was a Saturday job, working the till at a pottery shop in my hometown Machynlleth. I remember the CD collection was great and I listened to a lot of At The Drive In and Idlewild albums. I’d just started playing in a band so being able to indulge in my passion while working was ideal for a first job.

Where do you get your news?

I have an app on my phone called Feeder which gets RSS feeds, so I have a few different sources. It’s nice because it strips out all the adverts and videos and just gives you the text. It’s a bit like reading an old school bulletin board.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Right now it’s Bristol! I’ve been here almost 9 years, once I hit 10 years I can call myself a Bristolian. I’d like to move back to Wales one day, or my dream abode would be a cosy cabin by a lake in Canada.

Teeth for hair or hair for teeth?

I think teeth for hair would be easier to maintain because you could just run an electric toothbrush over your toothy noggin. Hair for teeth would be a nightmare, you could only eat soup and then you’d have soupy mouth hair. If that was my fate I’d retreat to the sea and subsist on krill.
